MEDLINE (Ovid) Premier source for bibliographic and abstract coverage of the biomedical literature. Includes some full-text. (1996 to most current week) PubMed (NLM) PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources. Both the databases above have a limit that can be used on any search for HIV/ AIDS information called "AIDS Subset." The limit is based on search strategies used for creating NLM's AIDSLINE database which was closed in 1999. Cochrane Library: The Cochrane Library contains high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. It includes reliable evidence from Cochrane and other systematic reviews, clinical trials, and more. Cochrane reviews bring you the combined results of the world's best medical research studies, and are recognised as the gold standard in evidence-based health care. DARE: DARE contains summaries of systematic reviews which have met strict quality criteria. Each summary also provides a critical commentary on the quality of the review. The database covers a broad range of health and social care topics and can be used for answering questions about the effects of interventions, as well as for developing guidelines and policy making. DynaMed is a medical reference system that uses an evidence-based approach. It is a full-text product that offers clinically organized disease summaries for almost 1800 topics. The product was created by a physician and designed for physicians to use as a clinical reference tool at the point of care. FIRSTConsult is an, evidence-based electronic primary care clinical information system providing specialized diagnostic tools and continuously updated thinking on the latest in evaluation and diagnosis, management options, patient outcomes and prevention at the point and time of a clinical encounter To see a complete list of UMDNJ Library Electronic Databases holdings click here. |

CROI (The Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections)-held every year in the United States. World AIDS Conference-held every two years around the world. It is the largest HIV conference and the most heavily attended by people with HIV/AIDS as well as researchers. It covers social and behavioral research as well as medical research. Goverment The Division of HIV/AIDS Services (DHAS) is part of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and coordinates all State-government activities related to HIV/AIDS. Non-Governmental Infection Disease Society represents physicians, scientists and other health care professionals who specialize in infectious diseases. IDSA’s purpose is to improve the health of individuals, communities, and society by promoting excellence in patient care, education, research, public health, and prevention relating to infectious diseases. The International AIDS Society is the world's leading independent association of HIV/AIDS professionals. The IAS is the organiser of the IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis and Treatment; and is custodian and lead organiser of the International AIDS Conference. Association of Nurses in AIDS Care is composed of a dedicated group of nurses, healthcare professionals and others who are committed to HIV/AIDS nursing. ANAC has members around the world. While most of ANAC's members are nurses, many other people who care about HIV nursing are also members. |
