The Virtual Library for Distance Learning has document support information specific to UMDNJ Distance Learners.
These materials can be difficult for libraries to obtain through ILL. Very few institutions circulate or photocopy them. In addition, academic departments (not libraries) often maintain these collections.
Please contact your campus library for further information or assistance, or use ProQuest/UMI Dissertation Publishing to order these directly (this is a fee service)."
Users of PubMed may enjoy the convenience of requesting documents through Loansome Doc. Check the UMDNJ Loansome Doc fact sheet for more information about how to use this service.
There is no charge for interlibrary loan service for UMDNJ students, faculty, staff and affiliate healthcare personnel (RWJUH, KHS, Cooper/UMC) provided the Library is able to obtain the item within the state of New Jersey.
If library staff cannot locate the requested item in-state, or if a request exceeds the fair use limits allowed by copyright law, patrons will (with prior consent) incur the charges levied by the supplying out-of-state library or commercial document delivery service.
For further information on this, and on any applicable charges for in-house photocopying service, please contact your local campus library.
When an article is not available within the UMDNJ Libraries, other library sources will be consulted. The "rule of thumb" for filling requests routed to outside libraries is 7 to 10 business days but most articles are available sooner.
