The University Libraries provide document support to the public at large through interlibrary loan networking activities, as well as Loansome Doc support.
The UMDNJ Catalog provides information regarding materials held throughout the University Library system..
If you are a non-UMDNJ student, please contact your college library regarding interlibrary loan services. If you are a member of the public, please contact your local public library to request materials from our collection.
Users of PubMed may enjoy the convenience of requesting documents through Loansome Doc.
Loansome Doc is a method of ordering documents for PubMed users. While in PubMed you can order articles from a list of retrieved citations.
When you register for Loansome Doc, the system stores your complete name, address, telephone number, fax number, preferred method of delivery, and a library identifier for the library that will provide documents. The only UMDNJ Library that provides Loansome Doc service for the public is the Health Sciences Library at Stratford.
RegistrationLoansome Doc Process
Once you
register you will be able to request articles during a PubMed or NLM Gateway
search. Your ordering library will process the requests according to your
online profile. If the ordering library fills the request from its own
collection, you should receive the article within two to three business days. If
the request is forwarded to another library, it may take a week or more for your
article to arrive.
Loansome Doc is not intended for rush requests.
Costs
The UMDNJ Libraries charge an annual registration fee to set up and maintain your account information at the ordering library and use a flat rate schedule for delivering copies of the articles. Please refer to the information and registration packet for costs.
