Dr. Balsama performs bariatric surgery at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals - University Medical Center, the principal hospital of UMDNJ-SOM and at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, NJ

The Wellness Center: Ongoing Programs
Monday - Thursday
Abs - 7:15-7:30 am & 5-5:15 pm. A 15 minute abdominal workout, sure to blast that midsection
Lunch Time 30 minute workouts - 12:15-12:45 pm
Monday - Boot Camp Extreme: A high intensity interval workout held in the fitness center alternating agility and cardiovascular intervals with upper and lower body strength training drills. You will feel like you are in the armed forces basic training camp.
Tuesday - Weight Training: A dynamic class utilizing muscle groups of both the upper and lower body. Dumbbells, balls, bands and body bars are used to enhance bone density and muscular strength.
Wednesday - Mat Pilates: A training technique utilizing torso stabilization to promote efficiency in movement using flexibility and strength.
Thursday - Weight Training: A dynamic class utilizing muscle groups of both the upper and lower body. Dumbbells, balls, bands and body bars are used to enhance bone density and muscular strength.
50 & Over
Boot Camp 101
Monday & Friday - A moderately paced low-impact interval workout alternating modified agility and cardiovascular drills with upper and lower body strength training activities.
Fitastic
In a rut with your present exercise routine? Join this class for a variety of standing and seated cardiovascular, strength training, flexibility and balance/core strength routines to advance your present fitness level. Ideal intermediate/advanced class.
Stretch & Strength
Join this great class to increase joint flexibility and strengthen your body from head to toe! A combination of strength training with exercise bands, modified pilates mat work and full body stretching.
Tai Chi
Often called moving Qigong, the SUN Tai Chi style is characterized by powerful Qigong elements, agile steps and flowing movements performed in a higher stance that is less stressful to the joints. Come with patience and experience improved balance, mobility, and relaxation.

Camden Saturday Health Clinic
In concert with the philosophy to provide primary care and prevention to medically underserved areas, students attending UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine continue to reach out to the community. Seeing the definitive need for greater primary care services in Camden, NJ, the student run Camden Saturday Health Clinic was founded. The Clinic provides free or low-cost services including, but not limited to: job physical for adults, school physical for children, tuberculosis testing (PPD), chronic disease management education, and prescription programs.
