Uterus (Menstral Phase) |
| # 184 - 185 - Uterus, menstrual stage, human, h.-e., , 1.5 mm, sec |
|
Observe the overall breakdown of the endometrium and the presence of blood in the lumen of the uterine glands. Be certain that you can correlate the changes in the uterus with the events of the pituitary-ovarian cycle. Blue arrow - Myometrium Red arrow -Endometrium Black arrow - Atretic Endometrium
This is a close up of the Endometrial Glands (blue arrow) during the menstral stage of the ovulatory cycle. Can you notice the RBC's infiltrating into their lumens? Remember as soon as you see a lot of blood in the endometrium you know it is in the menstral phase. Blue arrows - Uterine Glands of Menstral Phase
|
This is an image of the Uterus during the Menstral Phase of the ovulatory cycle. The blue arrow is showing to the Myometrium and the red arrow is pointing to the Endometrium. This stage is the easiest to identify because of the presence of the Atretic part of the Endometrium indicated by the black arrow. As soon as you see this, which is basically blood infiltrating into the uterine glands and blood all over the place in the endometrium, you know it is in the menstral stage
