Corpus
Albicans
| # 178 - Corpus albicans, human, 1.5 mm, sec., h.-e. |
The large pale staining structure in the middle of this slide is the corpus albicans. This is the remnant of the corpus luteum. This degenerate, non-functional structure results when the ovum is not fertilized or after parturition. How is this differ from an atretic follicle?
