One of the most confusing things in histology is trying to figure what you are supposed to identify on the slides. This site was designed to help solve that problem. To get the most out of this site, take a look at the pages for the lab that week before you go into the lab. This way you will know exactly what type of things you should be identifying instead of wasting your time looking at an artifact and thinking it's something important. This Web Site does not replace the Laboratory! The images seen on this site are just representative of the many different variations of all histology. Laboratory is still required, not only to pass the course but to learn important microscopy skills that you can't learn by just using this site. Do not Print out the pages found in this site! These pages are meant to be viewed on the computer terminals on campus and at home. However, It is recomended to print out the "THINGS YOU SHOULD IDENTIFY PAGES" found with in the labs and have them with you as you go through each lab on your microscope. One last point about the material in this site. If there is anything in the Lab manual that is not present in this site, YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. The Lab manual is what determines exactly what you are responsible for. Anything in the Lab manual is Fair Game! |

You will see these "ladners tips" graphics all over this site. Located next to these graphics you will find tips to help you either in identification or understanding the lab. These are designed to help you get through the labs easier. Pay attention to them, but don't ignore everything else. You are still responsible for everything assigned in the lab manual. |

There is a practice practical for every lab. Use these to test yourself. Keep in mind that anything in the labs is fair game. Just because you didn't see it here doesn't mean that it can't be on the practical. |
