SPRING 2007 SEMESTER ACTIVITIES

• General meeting to familiarize the students of our plans for the semester
• Trip to NYC for a fundraising gala benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA)
• On-campus bake sale raising funds for the MSAA
• Spring break overnight trip to Atlantic City-Borgata Casino & Spa
• Attended Univ. of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), and UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM) medical school open houses
• Randy Swanson (DO/PhD student) spoke about his experiences in doing both medical school and research
• Dr. Mason's (Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) professor at UMDNJ-SOM) discussion regarding the DO and MD ideologies, and OMM
• “Comedy Night” at Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia after our 2nd round of exams
• “Night Out in Olde City Philadelphia"-end of semester dinner

SUMMER 2007 ACTIVITIES

• Medical school application essay critique (a draft of your personal statement will be looked over by some of our current medical students)
• Attend medical school open houses in the area (NJ/PA)
• Doctor shadowing-we can give you suggestions/contact info.
• Atlantic City overnight trip
• Assist with GSBS incoming student orientations

• Robert Wood Johnson Tour/Info. Session of their Emergency Department and Emergency Medical Services with Dr. Merlin
• Sit-in on a Medical School Class, UMDNJ-SOM
• "Comedy Night" in Philadelphia
• Medical Student Panel-"Life as a Medical Student"/Advice for Pre-Meds
• Personal Statement Critiquing by Current Medical Students
• Winter Bake Sale-Fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA)
